The August 2008 album, Where the Sweet Celery Grows: Songs and Folk Mandolin from Kalamazoo is an eclectic blend of Americana and World Folk Rock on various styles of mandolins, which reflects a focus on social and environmental justice. Kalamazoo, Michigan, once known as the Celery City, has been a center for roots and acoustic music for generations. Weaver, a fourth-generation Kalamazooan with multi-ethnic roots, creates an eclectic blend of folk rock, which reflects subtly on environmental and social justice issues and the development of hemispheric understanding. Using American folk, Andean, and Irish-octave mandolins, he blends influences from diverse cultures which illustrate the eccentric heart of Kalamazoo.

The March 2006 album, Mandocentric, is a simple collection of eight songs accompanied by an eight stringed instrument: The Mandolin. Using both acoustic and electric mandolins, Brendan Weaver creates an eclectic blend of folk rock which reflects his focus on the values of environmentalism, family, social justice, and inner and outer peace. With an Andaluciana style introduction, “Mandocéntrica”, Brendan evokes the realization that this album is just a little different from main-stream mandolin tracks. Songs like “Kalamazoo” and “El Dorado” tell an epic story laid out in a tradition folk style, and “The Tree Song” is rhythm driven activism.
